Although we are still social distancing, we can still come together in spirit, show the strength of community, and work toward a good cause! Through the Covid-19 stay at home order, many events have gone virtual. This 5K walk/run is designed to give us a way to stay active while supporting those in need.
The donations from this race will go toward Loaves and Fishes, a local Chicago non-profit food pantry. In the last several weeks Loaves and Fishes has experienced a large increase in people seeking food assistance and are in need of financial aid to meet that growing need.
Running or Walking a Virtual Race is easy!
1. Register for the race below.
2. Run/Walk 5K on your own time between 5/23-5/24 This can be done in many different ways! Walk/Run indoors on a treadmill, out in your neighborhood, on the trails, or walk your dog! Create your own route!
3. Optional: Take a picture of nature, tread, or selfie while walking or running, use the hashtag #virtualsocialdistance5K.
